Hey! So third year of environmental engineering is over! Second semester of third year has certainly been the hardest semester in my degree so far. So I am very glad to be finished!
For vacation these holidays I am working for Thiess out at a mine near Mackay for three months. I have never been out to a mine site before so it should be interesting. I am looking forward to it though since I have only ever had one job before where I worked on a site full time and was required to always wear the steel cap boots and hard hat!
I previously worked for Thiess for three months at the end of last year. I was working in the head office in South Bank under the Environmental Manager. It was really interesting to discover how such a big company manages all of their projects. There was certainly a lot of work to do while I was working at a desk job, so i can imagine that working out at the mine will keep me fairly busy!
